CPA Canada welcomes new board chair and vice-chair

Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA Canada) welcomes new leadership to its board of directors following its Annual Meeting of the Members
Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA Canada) is pleased to announce the appointment of a new chair and vice-chair of its Board of Directors.
Following CPA Canada’s Annual Meeting of the Members on September 15, 2025, the Board appointed Darrell Jones, FCPA, FCMA, as chair and Kevin Regan, FCPA, FCA, as vice-chair.

Darrell Jones, FCPA, FCMA – Chair of the Board
Jones succeeds Beth Wilson, FCPA, FCA, who completed her term of office after serving four years on the board, including two as chair.
He has served on the CPA Canada Board of Directors since September 2021. He is a certified director specializing in linking strategy to organizational objectives that help enable increased client satisfaction, growth and profitability. Jones is a retired senior executive who now serves as a corporate director after working 41 years in the critical infrastructure (utilities and financial services) and advisory services industries.
Most recently, Jones served as Senior Executive Vice-President and Chief Information Officer for Canadian Western Bank. Prior to that, he was a Partner in KPMG’s Advisory Services practice, where he worked with clients to advance and strengthen their technology and cybersecurity capabilities.
Over the past 25 years, Jones has contributed his expertise to public, private, and not-for-profit boards and industry associations. His prior board service includes Edmonton Airports, Alberta Pensions, CMA Alberta, and Agilus Work Solutions.

Kevin Regan, FCPA, FCA – Vice-Chair of the Board
Regan joined the CPA Canada Board of Directors in September 2019. He is currently the chair of the Independent Acquisitions and Compliance Committee at KAI Asset Management Inc. and with the Winnipeg 2017 Canada Summer Games Legacy Committee.
He retired in 2017 following a 31-year career with Investors Group and its parent company, IGM Financial Inc., where he held various senior executive roles, concluding his career as Executive Vice-President, Finance, and Chief Financial Officer. Earlier in his career, he served as an auditor with Clarkson Gordon.
In addition to his professional achievements, Regan has made significant contributions to governance within both the profession and the broader community. He has served on the councils of CPA Manitoba and CA Manitoba, and has held board positions with the Ombudsman for Banking Services and Investments, the Mutual Fund Dealers Association and its Investor Protection Corporation, the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, the Independent Review Committee for Fidelity Investments Canada’s Mutual Funds and ETFs, and the Winnipeg 2017 Canada Summer Games Host Society.
